Danielson Framework Domains — Professional Responsibilities
“The components of Domain 4: Principled Teaching capture and reflect the practices of educators that extend beyond their classrooms and the learning experiences they facilitate. These activities are critical to preserving and enhancing the profession and to the success of students (The Danielson Group, 2022).”
Domain 4 Description: This domain focuses on our professional
conduct, as teachers, outside of direct instruction.
Domain 4 Goal: This domain promotes ongoing growth of professional dispositions
and responsibilities.

- Participation in school committees or PLC’s meeting minutes/agendas (can include grade-level planning, RTI/Student Success meetings, IEP meetings)
- Reflective journals or growth plans
- Newsletters or emails to parents
- Professional development certificates or logs (can
include professional development courses, workshops, curriculum training,
internet safety training)
- Communication logs with families/e.g., Canvas, Seesaw
- Documentation of mentoring or coaching
- Evidence of collaboration with colleagues
- Records of student progress and attendance
- Parent-teacher conferences/meet-and-greets
